LASIEC visits Badagry Local Government

As the 2025 local government elections draw nearer, the electoral body in Lagos state is making frantic efforts to strengthen democratic processes at the grassroots.
This was exhibited to as the the Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Onilude Olusegun Adeniran, hosted officials of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), led by its Chairman, Hon. Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile.
Accordingly to a press statement from Badagry local government, Onilude was on ground to receive the electoral umpire .
The statement partly says…
”Welcoming the LASIEC delegation to Badagry, Hon. Onilude reaffirmed the local government’s commitment to supporting the electoral commission in conducting a smooth and transparent election.”
“He assured that his administration would provide the necessary logistical and security support, along with other essential resources required by the commission to facilitate a free, fair, and transparent electoral process.”
”In response, Hon. Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile expressed gratitude for the warm reception and recalled fond memories of her time as the head of the court in Badagry. She reassured the council boss that LASIEC remains committed to conducting credible elections that reflect the true will of the people.”
”The meeting also emphasized the importance of stakeholder engagement, with both officials agreeing on the need for continuous dialogue with political parties, security agencies, civil society organizations, and the electorate. They noted that such collaboration would foster public trust in the electoral process and encourage peaceful participation.”
Accompanying the LASIEC Chairman were the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Abdul-Rafiu Fashola, and LASIEC Commissioners Mr. Samson Ajibade, Mr. Oluwo Durojaiye, Mr. Aileru Abeeb, Dr. Metilelu Olumide, and Mr. Adekanye Olade
