He explained that past governments mismanaged funds and pushed Nigeria backwards, but President Tinubu chose courage over popularity by implementing tough but necessary policies such as subsidy removal and forex reforms to rebuild the nation.

Hon. Adekanbi noted that these policies are already yielding results, with the prices of staples like rice and beans significantly reduced from their previous highs. He added that the introduction of the Dangote Refinery has ended Nigeria’s dependency on foreign oil refining, which has unsettled external interests benefiting from the old system.

Hon. Doherty recalled the challenges before the 2023 elections, including attempts to destabilise the economy through the naira redesign to stop Tinubu’s victory. Yet, he emphasized that God’s purpose prevailed. He noted that those who once held power added little value, but today, the diaspora is recognised as a key force for national progress.

He praised President Tinubu as a deep thinker placing the right people in the right positions, and highlighted new government plans for the diaspora, especially the upcoming Diaspora Estate Project across 11 states supported by federal banks, third-party mortgage partners, and the Ministry of Housing to make homeownership seamless for Nigerians abroad.

He said new measures have been introduced to secure highways, protect schools and farmers, and support communities affected by insecurity. He stressed that no criminal group should determine Nigeria’s future and called on institutions and citizens to contribute to building a safer, more stable nation.
